I need to remove all of the 0s except 3 at beginning and end of file. But the part I find most complicated is I am trying to smooth these numbers. So after the 0 removal I need to look for consecutive dups, then look at the number above and below those dups, average the amount then fill in based off the average count. The file should look like the numbers to the right in attached screenshot.

I have the text file in a string array but cant figure out how to convert to integers to do the complicated math. I understand this isn't a lot to go off but a quick sample of something close would help. Most all examples I have found do not pertain to text files when converting strings to int.
